I was feeling a little "arsty" when I edited this first image. It's a little different process than what I normally do but I felt this image really suited it.

This mom had one request...a family photo including the dog...seems simple enough, right?? Well when you're talking about a baby, a 2.5 yr old and a VERY active dog, that is no easy feat!! And I'm going to keep you in suspence, mom, THE photo isn't in here! Enjoy the sneek peak!

This will be my last post until after the Easter weekend. We are off for a little R&R. Hope you all enjoy some family time this weekend!

"I" didn't want to put down the camera he even wanted to get up on chairs like I was doing! Sorry Mom and Dad! Didn't mean to set a bad example,lol!!

{sneak peek}

Here's a sneak peek for "D&S". Mom "S" wanted photos of her and her daughter as a birthday gift from her husband. Great idea!! How many moms out there are the picture takers and are never IN the photographs!

We spent the morning trying to convince little "D" that she really DID want to get her picture taken. Alas, she didn't agree with us, but we did manage to get some keepers!!

I LOVE baby toes!!!Your gallery will be ready in the next couple of days "S".

{sneak peek}

So I think what I need to tell people before any shoot is to leave all expectations about what you want your pictures to look like at the door. Really, when working with kids, especially toddlers and preschoolers, you get what you get!! They are the bosses and what they say goes...for pictures anyway, because the more you try to get them to sit here or stand there, that's the LAST place they want to go!

This family was great at this. They just went with it and were very easy going. These girls knew exactly what they wanted and what they wanted to do. I truly love that about children. As great as it would be to have kids who just did whatever you said, you wouldn't end up with pictures that reflected who they were. And that is what makes a photograph great.

I hope this isn't what "H" thought of me and my camera!!

There's alot to go through "E"! I'll let you know when your gallery is ready! Can't wait for spring and the horses!

{breath of warm air}

I was going a little nutty in my house. It's been FREEZING for the last 2 weeks. So it was wonderful to get outside today in almost balmy weather! We celebrated our nephew's 4th birthday by going on a sleigh ride. It was great! Warm weather, great food, family and friends. What more could you ask for?

Here's a few pics of the days activities.

{Amazing Mom's}

In the fall of 2004 I joined a local Mom's group called St. Norbert Y-Neighbours. I had a 41/2 yr old a 21/2 yr old and a baby on the way. I didn't have many friends who had children so I didn't have anyone to talk to about the challenges of raising kids. I could go days where the only adult I talked to was my husband. This group was exactly what I needed!! We meet once a week to chat, eat and we have speakers who come and talk about topics pertaining to mom's and kids. Over the last month I've had the opportunity to photograph a few of these kids and families.

"N" has a big brother but this session was all about her!!This family was from a previous post but mom "M" is a Y-Neighbour too!

{sneak peek}

Shoots with kids can be unpredictable! You never know how they will react to you. Will they be silly and make faces? or shy and never crack a smile? You really just gotta go with it and take what you can get. Mom "M" really wanted a family shot and some with her kids together...well they had other plans! Don't worry "M" we got some good ones, even some together!!
How does that saying go?...never work with kids and dogs... well then I'd miss out on shots like these!

{Boyz}

These are 3 of our 8 nephews. We have no nieces and our girls are the only girls on both sides of our families. So getting to photograph some boys is a treat! These boys could work a camera! They could give me the pouty, no smile face on command(check out "B" in the middle..I love that face!)...well except for "A"... trying to not smile caused a fit of giggles! By the end of the shoot they were posing like pros and coming up with their own. You guys were so fun to photograph and I can't wait for our skate park shoot in the spring! Love ya! ~ Auntie Carol~
