{he's here!}

Baby "C" has finally arrived, almost 2 weeks past his due date!

You'll remember his beautiful mommy from the maternity session a few posts back. I had a blast taking his pictures today and he was pretty co-operative...well, except for the pooping part... hope it comes out of your jeans "J"!!

Here's a sneak peek for the new family and I'm sure I'll be finished the rest very soon! I'm anxious to proof them!! These are good, but I'm saving the best for the gallery!

Baby "C's" Nana had this teddy bear made for him from her old fur coat! So beautiful!!Congratulation "J&G"! He's one beautiful boy!

{I should be...}

I should be cleaning...I should be wrapping presents(I haven't started yet!!)... I should be making perogies...but instead I'm reminiscing. I'm looking at pictures from this past summer. Ahhhh, summer....I miss summer. Don't get me wrong, I LIKE winter. I like watching the kids toboggan, making snowmen, big fat lazy snowflakes and Christmas. I LOVE Christmas but I love summer more. (sorry, my snowmobiling addicted husband:))
Here's a few pictures of a visit to my mom and dad's house in Gimili, or Gimili House as it's called by the grand kids.

This was as good as it got mom!!

{Amazing Mom's}

In the fall of 2004 I joined a local Mom's group called St. Norbert Y-Neighbours. I had a 41/2 yr old a 21/2 yr old and a baby on the way. I didn't have many friends who had children so I didn't have anyone to talk to about the challenges of raising kids. I could go days where the only adult I talked to was my husband. This group was exactly what I needed!! We meet once a week to chat, eat and we have speakers who come and talk about topics pertaining to mom's and kids. Over the last month I've had the opportunity to photograph a few of these kids and families.
"H&H & mom L"
Even the dog got in on the acton!
"N and mom W".
"N" has a big brother but this session was all about her!!This family was from a previous post but mom "M" is a Y-Neighbour too!

Thank you so much to ALL Y-Neighbour moms. I couldn't ask for a greater group of friends!!

{sneak peek}

Shoots with kids can be unpredictable! You never know how they will react to you. Will they be silly and make faces? or shy and never crack a smile? You really just gotta go with it and take what you can get. Mom "M" really wanted a family shot and some with her kids together...well they had other plans! Don't worry "M" we got some good ones, even some together!!
How does that saying go?...never work with kids and dogs... well then I'd miss out on shots like these!

{gorgeous girls}

I was so excited to photograph these girls. When we met them I thought, "I need to take their pictures!!"... because they are gorgeous!!! See for yourself.......

I had to restrain myself from posting too many of these. I want to save them for the gallery. "C", they should be done tomorrow. I'll let you know!

{cool guys}

I had an impromptu photo shoot this weekend with my step-sister's boys and had a great time!! The weather was great and we went to my favorite location (right now!) within walking distance from my house. While they didn't mind getting their pictures taken, they weren't shy about letting us know when they were DONE!

I'm workin' on the rest "S". I'll let you know when they're done! For now here's a sneak peek!

{beautiful belly}

Can you believe this woman didn't have ONE stretch mark???? I didn't edit them out, really! I'm just a little envious. Really, it should be all of us, or none of us. It's not fair!!!
Anyway, aside from belly envy, I had SO much fun doing this shoot! It's my first "real" maternity shoot and "J" was up for ANYTHING!! It was so great. We even went outside in the snow, bare belly and all. I'm sure the repair man who drove by thought we were crazy!! Thanks "J", can't wait to meet the little man who was doing back flips in there!

{let it snow...}

If it HAS to snow, I love the big, fluffy, lazy snowflakes. That's how it was snowing yesterday morning, so I grabbed my camera and whichever child happened to be with me and made her model! "P" was all for it though and posed like a pro. She said when we were done..."that wasn't so bad, Mom!" I wonder if they think I take too many pictures???

{sneak peek}

I was a little worried during this shoot! There wasn't a whole lot o' light! That's a bit of a problem in the winter, here in the prairies, when you're a natural light photographer. But we waited it out and the sun peeked through enough for us to get some great shots!! We also ventured outside even though it was a cool day. Thank goodness little "J" had that adorable hat!

Thanks so much "C & C". I'll let you know when the rest are done! I can't wait for you to see them!

{Boyz}

These are 3 of our 8 nephews. We have no nieces and our girls are the only girls on both sides of our families. So getting to photograph some boys is a treat! These boys could work a camera! They could give me the pouty, no smile face on command(check out "B" in the middle..I love that face!)...well except for "A"... trying to not smile caused a fit of giggles! By the end of the shoot they were posing like pros and coming up with their own. You guys were so fun to photograph and I can't wait for our skate park shoot in the spring! Love ya! ~ Auntie Carol~

{budding photographer}

My daughter "A" loves to take pictures. She would even like a camera of her own for Christmas and she wants to know everything about photography. She asked me today how to make a background blury and when I started telling her about aperature, she stopped me so she could take notes!! That's my girl!

A couple of weeks ago I did a shoot for my sister and her family and another family. "A" was my "second shooter" taking pics right along side me. She asked me today if we could photoshop some. So here are some of her best and a couple that she took of me taking pictures!!

Have a great weekend!

~Carol~
